In our Campaigns Field, Speakers' Forum, TrAd Village and elsewhere across our festival site as well as online and with gift tickets, Green Gathering supports people and groups agitating for peace, for climate and social justice, for biodiversity and a healthy planet.
Here’s a few of the causes we've shouted about in recent years - most still need your support.
1) Save the Wye Coalition: the Wye is our local river, the fourth longest in the UK; the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is on our doorstep; the Wye is devastatingly polluted. This grassroots coalition is fighting to bring the Wye back from the brink.
2) Keychange: spurring the music industry to strive for gender balance in recent years, we 100% support Keychange widening the focus to other underrepresented groups. We're on board!
3) Plastic Free Periods: GG's Em Weirdigan was amongst the first to promote mooncups at festivals two decades ago. Now a range of reusable period wear exists and we want to bring it right into the mainstream. Our Moon Loos - specifc loos with water facilities for washing sustainable period products - aim to make going plastic free simpler.
4) Refugee Community Kitchen: serving nourishing food to displaced people in the UK and France, without judgement, since 2015. RCK always welcomes volunteers (and sells great hoodies).
5) Insulate Britain: this group upset some people by blocking roads, their activists went to prison... but their message is spot on. Fuel poverty and the climate crisis mean we MUST Insulate Britain.
6) Friends, Families & Travellers: working to end racism and discrimination against Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people and to protect the right to pursue a nomadic way of life... FFT supports New Travellers, Showpeople and Boaters too; all power to FFT.
7) South West Against Nuclear (SWAN) and Stop Hinkley: years behind schedule and vastly over-budget, building new nuclear plants on the coast as sea levels rise, with no safe plan for waste disposal; it just doesn't add up. Better energy solutions exist!
Our festival will continue platforming campaigners striving to create a fairer world.
