Every year lots of gatherers choose to make the journey to our festival by bike. This year there's also the chance to join James Levelle en route, an award-winning adventurer and filmmaker who will be screening his film at the festival about his fossil-fuel free race from the UK to Chile.
James will be cycling from where he lives in his boat in Saltford, via a stop off in Bristol, to the festival site on Thursday 3 August, and is inviting anyone who fancies some company on the ride in to join him!
You can see the route he will be taking on Komoot.
Or you can also view it on Google Maps.
His itinerary:
10:30 - depart Saltford
12:00 - arrive at Arnolfini Cafe Bar in Bristol. The best place for anyone joining from Bristol to join the ride!
13:00 - depart from Bristol
15:00 - estimated arrival at Green Gathering
If you'd like to join, simply drop us a message on social media or email us, and we'll put you in touch! If there's a different place you'd like to join from that is already on James' route, let us know and we'll see if James can make it work.
As ever, those who cycle to Green Gathering will be entitled to a free programme to reward their efforts! Just tell Box Office on arrival and show them evidence of your journey. You can also make your journey easier by packing light - check out how much weight using upcycled hire service Camplight could save you.
About James
James will be screening his new film and speaking at Green Gathering 2023. His film, 'Race for the Future' documents his journey as he takes on a 9000-mile emission-free odyssey from the UK to Chile to champion the voices of young people in the climate crisis by delivering their personal video messages in a film to the United Nations Climate Conference… if he can get there in time.
