Earlier this year The Green Gathering offered 20 free tickets to activists to say thank you for the work they’ve done fighting injustice across a whole range of issues. After receiving nominations from the community, we pulled names from a hat and offered tickets to some incredible activists – and you can see the causes they support here.

The Nanas were by no means the only people involved in putting an end to fracking in the UK but they were super active on all fronts – occupying fracking sites, demonstrating outside Downing Street, holding public meetings, persuading councils not to back fracking and more.
They wear bright yellow costumes often complete with headscarves, pour tea, bake cake and ask the public to honk for support. It’s hard to hate on someone dressed like your nan and waving at your car isn’t it? Genius.
You can find out more about them and one of their co-founders Tina Rothery in this article.
